“Coach UP”

– NEW Coach Development Program for 2017-18

What is Coach UP?

This initiative will provide over 50 hours of coach development workshops, held throughout the 2017-18 season. Clubs have two pricing options which include up to two ‘Coach Credentials’ – with these credentials, your Club can choose which coach to send to each session depending on your needs. Included in the program are x7 workshop days aligned with SSO High Performance Programming. On each of these 7 days, coaches will:

1) Participate in a morning round table discussion facilitated by top Ontario coaches on various technical topics

2) Observe athletes at T2T skills stations & interact with guest experts (note – this portion of the day is open to ALL Ontario coaches to observe, but the morning/afternoon sessions are ONLY for Coach UP participants)

3) Afternoon Coach Workshop led by various guest experts on a variety of relevant topics – from injury prevention to season planning, to hands-on workshops focusing on technical skills & drills, to soft-skill development workshops led by industry-leading consultants.

*Final details of topics/presenters will be released prior to each session – see attached poster for planned topics

Also included in Coach UP is attendance at the September 30th Coaches/Officials FINA Quad Update Workshop & x3 one-hour webinars to be hosted by guest experts throughout the season.

Mandatory Coach I.D. Badges:

Synchro Ontario Coaches are required to wear identification badges while on deck at all meets.  If you do not have an I.D. badge, please send a digital head shot, similar to the type of photo used for passports (except you may smile!) by November 1st of each competitive season. The photos must be a digital close-up of the head and shoulders so that the face covers approximately 25% of the photo.  Please put your affiliated Club name in the subject line of the email.  In the body of the email identify all coaches’ pictures with full name.  Also, please send only colour photos.  All coaches that are registered with Synchro Ontario must have a badge.  If a coach on deck at a competition does not have a badge, then they will be asked to leave the deck. Send your photos to id@synchroontario.com
