Announcing 10U FutureGen Program for Summer 2017!

SSO is thrilled to announce a new development opportunity for our youngest competitors: The 2017 FutureGen Summer Development Camp!
 
This program will provide an enhanced summer training experience for the Top 10 & Under athletes in the province, and will expose them to the high performance training environment of a Provincial Team. FutureGen athletes will train alongside Ontario’s Provincial Teams for two training days during the summer of 2017 under the guidance of top Ontario coaches who will deliver an NSO CS4L/LTAD-aligned program intended to build a strong foundation for excellence and success in synchronized swimming.

Notes:
– Routines eligible to compete at Age Groups are highlighted in yellow.
– Eligible pre-swimmers (top two non-qualifying routine scores across all regions – as per SSO Rulebook) are highlighted in gray.
– Approved byes are also eligible to enter Age Groups, and are noted on the results sheet.
– Quotas for 16-20 Duets, AWD Solos, 13-15 Solos, and 16-20 Solos have not been exceeded, therefore all routines qualify through to Age Groups.
 
 
*Withdrawing Any qualified routines OR eligible pre-swimmers who do NOT intend to register for Age Groups are asked to please inform SSO immediately (contact Rachel Klein at [email protected])

Topic: Coaches of Train to Train Athletes (Ages 11-15)

Geared towards coaches, this session will focus specifically on the Train to Train LTAD stage (Ages 11-15). Coaches will learn about the psychological/social aspects of sport for this age group – what motivates them and how team dynamics impact training. The windows of train-ability will also be covered, as well as the role of competition for this age group.

LAND ROUTINE DEMO

Our athletes have been working hard since September learning this fun, music-based land routine, which shows off key flexibility, strength, and synchronization skills. Everyone is encouraged to come out to watch the demonstration and cheer them on! Please check final posted schedules to confirm times/locations:

CN Regionals – Saturday March 4th, 3:15pm (Studio 2)

West Regionals – Saturday March 11th, 3:35pm (Gym)

East Regionals – Saturday March 11th, 2pm (Sports Hall F)

 

PARENT INFO SESSION

Parents of Learn to Train-age athletes (9 to 11 year olds) are ALL encouraged to join us for a 45 minute information session – topics will include sport psychology of the female athlete and methods for supporting your athlete in her synchro journey, as well as athlete wellness (sleep, nutrition, technology habits etc.). No pre-registration is required. Please check final posted schedules to confirm times/locations:

CN Regionals – Sunday March 5th, 1pm (Studio 2)

West Regionals – Sunday March 12th, 11am (Gym)

East Regionals – Saturay March 11th, 2:15pm (Sports Hall F)

 

L2T ATHLETE/COACH CLINIC

This 2-hour Mini Clinic will take place immediately following the competition – don’t forget to plan for this in your travel arrangements!  The clinic is for ALL athletes and coaches who registered for and attended the September/January L2T Clinics. This clinic is a follow-up which will provide support to coaches who are implementing L2T programming at their Clubs, and will reinforce and introduce new programs for athletes, who will work in the pool with top L2T experts. Please check final posted schedules to confirm times/locations:

CN Regionals – Friday March 3rd, 3-5pm

West Regionals – Saturday March 11th, 6-8pm

East Regionals – Saturday March 11th, 3-5pm
