In 2009, the only coaches who need to take a theory course external to Synchro Ontario's coaching courses will be those candidates that are taking their Comp Dev/NCCP 3. For those coaches working on the new Comp Intro certification (formerly NCCP 1 and 2), all theory components are part of Synchro Canada's coach certification that is offered by Synchro Ontario (Comp Intro I and Comp Intro II). Synchro Ontario Policies/Statements of note for Coaches: Statement on Athlete Safety Code of Ethics Policy for Coaches, Athletes & Officials Coaching Certification information: All coaches and course conductors must attend an updating course every two and no longer than four years following the date of completion of their last Technical training course or upgrade to the next level or complete a special assignment approved by the Coaches’ Management Team of Synchro Canada. If this is not done, the coach’s name and training information is removed from the Coaching Association of Canada’s database records and the coach is deemed inactive.

Memo to Judges on Combos (posted May 9/07) Judge Discussion sheets for elements/penalties (Nov 8 version) From Lynda Furniss:A few minor written changes were required in the above attached document to clarify the kick pull kick element for tiers 2 and 3. It was brought to my attention that the sequence of "kick pull kick airplane" constitutes one stroke, not two; so I have corrected the following numbered pages: 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11.
Also on page 17, there was a typing error for tier 4 team element # 2. Originally, the arm sequence read " ...travel both forward or sideways..." the word both has been removed. If you previously printed my September 2006 version, you need not reprint the entire document. When you are ready to print, remember that the document now has a title page, which does not have a page number. I would suggest that you scroll down to the exact page(s) that you want to reprint so that you get the right ones.Synchro Canada updates: For information on National issues, Programs, Meetings...go to Synchro Canada Synchro Canada Tiers & Star Program Requirements 2005-2009 Synchro Canada Rulebook Coaching Resources: * FINA Synchronized Swimming Manual for Judges, Coaches and Referees * FINA Handbook * Star Manual / Videos / DVD * Trillium Manual / Video * Synchro Sue To order visit the Synchro Store!
