– L2T Land Routine shall be an optional event for Novice during the 2017-18 season

– This event is open to swimmers competing in 8U, 9-10 and/or 11-12 (not open to 13+)

– Groups may be formed however the Club chooses (it can be a pre-existing team, or a mix of athletes from different teams).

– While the Land Routine was designed for 8 athletes, Clubs are free to modify this number as needed (e.g. It can be performed as a duet if a full team cannot be fielded, coaches may modify patterns for 9 swimmers etc.)

– The event will be performed in a dry-land environment, on either mats or gym floor (as demonstrated in the video) and will be included in the Meet Schedule

– The event will NOT be marked/awarded with ribbons/medals – however athlete performances will be recognized via certificate and skill feedback provided to coaches for development purposes

– If possible, we ask that athletes dress as per the online demo video (black suits and black shorts); if this is not possible, please try to match as closely as you are able (black tank tops, matching/appropriate workout attire)

– Note: Clubs may choose to perform only a portion of the L2T Land Routine at the Novice Skills Testing Event (e.g. only first 1:00 minute of the routine), and may modify skills if needed (e.g. place hands on ground for splits, hold plank instead of push-ups etc.) – officials will evaluate what is demonstrated
